I've run on the treadmill for years and it never gets easier. It's sometimes a mental game.
The way I typically get through the monotony and physical stress of a treadmill run is to play time games. Visualize the progress I'm making in different ways.
I'd love an app where I can enter in my run time and then cycle through a number of different visualizations to see progress.
Cycling through is important—one visualization gets tiresome after awhile. Another might be more beneficial for the latter half, or final quarter of the run.
This prototype is sped up 50x just so you can see the visualizations work over a quicker timeframe.
Note: I'm still working through various visualizations and a preferred "omakase" visualization that changes during the duration of the run.
